The Quick and Easy, Simple Way to Use Ora-Shield with Your Favorite Toothpaste

Here is the easiest, best way to use your favorite toothpaste and Ora-Shield. Just brush with your favorite natural toothpaste first, rinse out your mouth, and then put 1-3 drops of tooth oil on your toothbrush and lightly brush all the gum line around your whole mouth. That extra minute of care will go a long ways to restoring balance in your oral microbiome.

How to Use Ora-Shield Instead of Toothpaste

Get your toothbrush wet and add 1-3 drops of Ora-Shield tooth oil to your toothbrush and brush your teeth like normal. Concentrate on the gum line to allow the oil to work down into the gingival crevice.

Ora-Shield will help bring balance to the bacteria, so you will have fewer bad bacteria and more of the good guys to protect your teeth and gums! You can learn more about the benefits of the essential oils in Ora-Shield in this article.

You can just spit out after brushing your teeth with Ora-Shield. There is no need to rinse away any residue. In fact, that little bit left over will keep working in your mouth on your behalf, protecting your smile even more. It won’t hurt to swallow a little bit of the oil blend.

After brushing fill your lungs with a cool, minty fresh breath. That is the way it is supposed to be. Natural, unmedicated fresh breath.

How to Use Ora-Shield As Mouthwash

Add 1-3 drops of Ora-Shield to a small cup of water (about 1/2 oz, or 15 ml) and use it as a mouthwash. The essential oils will coat all the surfaces of your mouth, even where you don’t brush.

How to Use Ora-Shield with your Oral Irrigator

Add 1-3 drops of Ora-Shield to your oral irrigator machine. You may have to mix the reservoir up a little as you use it, but the oral irrigator machine will get the beneficial essential oils right down into the gingival crevice where you need it the most.

Enhanced Oil Pulling with Ora-Shield

Add 1-3 drops of Ora-Shield to about 1 tablespoon of oil for oil pulling. Swish the oil around your mouth for 10-15 minutes. Then spit out the oil in the trash, rinse and brush  your teeth. Oil pulling is a great way to cleanse unwanted bacteria from your mouth. Adding essential oils greatly enhances oil pulling.

Sidenote:  We have noticed that if our mouth isn't clean, or we have used just toothpaste without our tooth oil  for a day or two, then the taste while using Ora-Shield is stronger and not as refreshing as when we regularly use the oil to keep our mouths minty clean. So, it helps to brush, even for just a minute, with just water before using Ora-Shield.

What About Toothpaste?

We like to combine Ora-Shield with a natural toothpaste which adds some mild scrubbing power to our regimen. Over the years we noticed that we have cleaner, unstained teeth when combining Ora-Shield with a natural toothpaste. We use a formula that we make ourselves with bentonite clay, activated charcoal, xylitol, peppermint oil and just enough water to make a paste.

If you don’t make your own toothpaste select a toothpaste that promotes health. Fluoride-free is a great start. Xylitol is great for its anti-cavity qualities. Natural mineral blend or hydroxyapatite for rebuilding enamel, filling small cavities and helping with sensitive teeth is a great ingredient. Find a flavor your like and keep on using it.

Here is What Customers Have to Say:

I love this tooth oil! It leaves your mouth feeling so fresh and clean, not artificially so, but because it actually kills germs. I’ve found that it works better than any mouthwash or breath mints for truly long-lasting good breath.

—Andrea L.

My daughter said.mom.you have to try my new tooth paste. Well it’s not a paste but it works great on my teeth. I tried it and loves how clean my teeth felt and how minty my breath was. I immediately ordered a three pack so I could give two as gifts to my other children.

—K Kuhl

It’s super minty fresh, without being minty “hot.” It leaves your teeth feeling squeaky clean. So many natural toothpastes have a weird mouthfeel, taste disgusting, leave an odd film in your mouth, make you drool when you brush, etc. This oil just cleans your teeth and leaves a very refreshing, cool minty sensation in your mouth. I love it!

—Jolene S.

Our whole family loves it. One drop on a toothbrush run along the teeth and gums leaves a minty fresh and clean mouth for hours! At first use it seemed strong, but it mellows in seconds and we are all used to it now so don’t really notice it anymore. Love that there is only good ingredients!
