Why Do Half of Americans Have Gum Disease — Even Though They Brush Every Day?

Because toothpaste can't reach the bacteria hiding in your gum pockets. Ora-Shield can.

Say Good Bye to:

✖︎ Bleeding, sore, or receding gums
✖︎ Bad breath that returns an hour after brushing
✖︎ Gum disease that progresses despite regular brushing
✖︎ Chemical-laden toothpaste that disrupts your oral microbiome

Say Hello to:

✔︎ Gums that stop bleeding within days of consistent use
✔︎ Gum pockets that close over time as bacterial load decreases
✔︎ Dental checkups your hygienist will actually compliment
✔︎ A mouth that feels genuinely clean — not just minty

What is Ora-Shield?

Ora-Shield is a precision tooth oil formulated by a chemical engineering PhD with 25+ years in nutritional science. It's not a hobbyist blend — it's a targeted oral care system that combines the biofilm-clearing power of organic MCT oil with four precisely chosen antimicrobial essential oils to address the root causes of gum disease and bad breath, rather than masking them.

Why Ora-Shield?

Formulated by a Chemical Engineering PhD with 25+ Years in Nutritional Science Dr. Michael Donaldson developed Ora-Shield after decades of creating clinical-grade dietary supplements. He brings rigorous scientific training to every formula he creates — and his own family has used Ora-Shield daily for over 20 years.
Targets Gum Disease, Gingivitis & Bleeding Gums at the Source Ora-Shield's organic essential oil blend — including peppermint, spearmint, oregano, and tea tree — penetrates deep into gingival pockets where toothpaste can't reach, disrupting the harmful bacteria that cause bleeding, receding, and sore gums.
Superior MCT Carrier Oil — Not Almond Oil Most tooth oils use almond oil, which is thick and slow. Ora-Shield uses organic MCT oil from coconut: a thinner, faster-flowing carrier that delivers essential oils deeper into gum pockets and mixes cleanly with water as a rinse. It also flows freely in cold temperatures — no waiting, no tapping the bottle.
4 Ways to Use — Including Oral Irrigator Compatible Brush with 1–3 drops instead of toothpaste. Dilute in water as a mouthwash rinse. Add directly to your Waterpik or oral irrigator reservoir for deep gum pocket therapy. Or massage directly onto sore gum tissue.
Made with 100% Organic Essential Oils — Free from Fluoride, SLS, Alcohol & Harsh Chemicals Every active ingredient in Ora-Shield is organic. No synthetic fragrances, no foaming agents, no alcohol that dries out your mouth. Safe for daily use by adults and children. A clean alternative to conventional toothpaste and chemical mouthwash.

How to Use Ora-Shield:

As an Alternative to Toothpaste Place 1–3 drops of Ora-Shield on your wet toothbrush and brush as you normally would — or use it alongside your existing toothpaste for enhanced protection. The essential oils penetrate along the gumline and between teeth where toothpaste bristles can't reach. Most users notice their mouth feels cleaner and fresher than with toothpaste alone within the first few uses.

As a Great Mouthwash: Add 1–3 drops of Ora-Shield to half an ounce of water and swish for 30–60 seconds. Unlike alcohol-based mouthwashes that dry out your mouth and kill both beneficial and harmful bacteria, Ora-Shield selectively targets the bacteria that cause gum disease while supporting the growth of healthy oral microbiome bacteria. No burn. No dry mouth. Just clean.

For Sore or Tender Gums: Place a drop of Ora-Shield on a clean fingertip, then gently massage it directly onto sore, swollen, or tender gum tissue. The peppermint, oregano, and tea tree oils work together to soothe irritated tissue and reduce the bacterial load at the surface. This is especially helpful for gums that are actively bleeding or inflamed — use morning and night for fastest results.

Enhanced Oil Pulling: Add 1–3 drops of Ora-Shield to your tablespoon of coconut or sesame oil before pulling. The essential oil blend dramatically increases the antibacterial effectiveness of oil pulling, carrying active ingredients into areas the base oil alone can't reach. If you already practice oil pulling, this is the simplest upgrade you can make to your routine.

Floss with Ora-Shield: Place 1–3 drops of Ora-Shield onto a small clean dish or knife blade. Dip your floss pick or traditional floss into the oil before each pass and floss normally. The essential oils coat the contact surfaces between teeth and along the gumline — reaching areas that brushing and rinsing can't.

The Benefits of Ora-Shield Ingredients for Dental Health

Organic peppermint oil

Peppermint oil is the go-to essential oil for keeping your teeth and gums healthy. It’s been around for ages and has a long history of fighting off nasty bacteria in your mouth. Plus, it leaves a super refreshing, cool taste. And guess what? It doesn’t mess with the good bacteria in your mouth, so you can enjoy all the benefits without any worries.

Organic spearmint oil

Spearmint oil shares many characteristics with peppermint oil, but it offers a sweeter flavor that softens the bold minty taste of peppermint. It gently reduces the intensity of Ora-Shield while introducing different active ingredients, providing a unique way to help support a balanced oral microbiome.

Organic oregano oil

Oregano oil is still from the mint family, so it pairs naturally with peppermint and spearmint. A little bit goes a long way — oregano oil helps remove contaminants, promotes a healthy oral microbiome, and increases the formula's overall potency. You can taste the oregano working.

Organic tea tree oil

Tea tree oil is widely used to reduce contaminants in personal care products. Tea tree oil helps promote only the growth of beneficial bacteria. We use just a small amount — enough to deliver its benefits without overwhelming your senses.

MCT Oil: The Carrier Oil That Carries the Best

Most tooth oils use almond oil as their base. It's thick, slow-moving, and struggles to penetrate the narrow spaces where gum disease actually lives. Ora-Shield uses organic MCT oil from coconuts — and the difference is immediate and lasting.

Flows instantly from the bottle — even in cold rooms where almond oil tooth oils make you wait and tap and wait some more. Every. Single. Time.
Penetrates deeper into gum pockets — MCT oil's thinner consistency carries the active essential oils into the gingival crevices and hard-to-reach spaces where harmful bacteria thrive.
Mixes cleanly with water — making it far more effective as a mouthwash rinse than oil-based alternatives that bead up and separate.
Antimicrobial on its own — MCT oil from coconut contains lauric acid, which actively supports a balanced oral microbiome beyond just carrying the other ingredients.

Why Organic Essential Oils?

Organic essential oils carry a higher concentration of active ingredients compared to conventionally grown, harvested, and processed oils — because they're grown without the chemical inputs that can suppress a plant's natural compound production.

You also get more of the minor constituents that conventional processing tends to strip away. These trace compounds work alongside the primary actives to support a healthy oral microbiome in ways that isolated ingredients can't replicate.

And with organic, there are no residual pesticides, herbicides, or synthetic chemicals to worry about. Pure, clean, healthy.
